You Cannot Judge A Person's Health Just By Looking At Them

Nor, can you judge their worth.

Let's just stop making assumptions without knowing the whole story, okay?

You cannot judge a person's health just by looking at them.

To assume that one must look "fit" in order to be healthy is a large misconception.

To assume that because someone looks "fit" means they are also healthy is also a misconception.

The fittest looking on earth may not be the healthiest.

To assess someone's health, you must use more objective standards.

  • How many hours do they sleep a night, and what kind of quality is it?

    • 7 to 9 hours of restorative, uninterrupted sleep is ideal.

  • Do they eat a diverse diet of foods filled with nutrients?

    • Balanced meals made with minimally processed ingredients are recommended - with an added outlook of remaining flexible.

  • What does their self-talk sound like?

    • Mindset matters. Therapy helps

  • Do they move their body daily?

    • 7-10K steps daily is a good target.

  • Do they lift weights, and lift them with quality technique?

    • Lifting weights has proven benefits for bone density and joint health.

  • Do they sit all day for work, or do they make a point to take breaks and move

    • Sitting for extended periods has negative effects on joints, causing unnecessary aches and pains

  • What is their average stress level?

  • Do you ever take a break from fight or flight mode? Especially to eat and digest?

  • What do they do for self-care?

Life cannot always be hustle and grind. One must dedicate time to caring for themselves first.

Someone may be on the path to health and by societal standards may not "look" it, so it's best to get all of the information before you assume.

We're all here doing our best to be our best. We're a work in progress, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Let's all be a part of defining health separately from what a person looks like.
